Respiratory Care Practitioner
Schedule: FT (80hrs/pp)
Shift: Evenings
Hours: 1630–0100 Monday–Friday (on call Monday–Friday), Weekends Off

New Graduates welcome to apply. CRTT or RRT required or eligible.

At Santiam Memorial Hospital, we have created a new evening shift position for a Respiratory Care Practitioner applying their skills in all aspects of Respiratory Care and equipment management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Patient assessment, delivery of inhalants, administration of medical gases, mechanical ventilation, BiPAP and CPAP management, chest physical therapies, arterial blood draws and analysis, EKG, Holter and Event monitors, pulmonary function testing, Stress testing, C-Section team, and Trauma team. We are willing to train the right individual. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.

Required:
Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program with a current Oregon RCP License. Current NRP and BLS suggested but not required for initial employment. (Training and certification will be provided as needed within the first 3 months.)

Stayton, Oregon is a small community that is only 17 miles east of Salem, Oregon. Located at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, there is a variety of summer and winter recreation available.

Family Nurse Practitioner:
Santiam Memorial Hospital is seeking a full time, high energy Family Nurse Practitioner for an active Family Practice Medical Clinic.

Job Purpose:
Augments physician’s ability to provide patient care services by scheduling, supervising, and/or conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; independently participating in the delivery of direct patient care within the scope of authority granted by the State Board of Medical Examiners.

Duties:

  • Ensures optimal patient care services by leading and coordinating health care delivery job results of the physician's health team; ensuring distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space, and facilities.
  • Identifies potential medical and surgical problems by conducting physical examinations; recording patient histories; preparing patient workups and summaries; recording normal and abnormal data and tentative conclusions for review by the physician.
  • Provides direct patient care under indirect physician supervision by coordinating and scheduling appointments; explaining the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of procedures to the patient and/or patient's family; completing laboratory studies; performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Monitors patient progress by carrying-out patient care services; maintaining patient records; consulting with supervising physician when patient's progress does not meet anticipated and/or predetermined criteria; arranging consultations.
  • Provides information by participating in basic science and clinical research projects conducted by supervising physician; preparing statistical reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Educates students, residents, and interns by assisting supervising physician in developing programs in techniques and procedures which are unique to the specific clinical setting.
  • Improves patient care quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes.
  • Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards.
  • Updates nurse practitioner job knowledge by recommending state-of-the-art practices; providing nursing leadership; contributing to professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
