The DXA bone densitometer assesses bone structure and bone density for detection of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a potentially crippling disease that affects of 75 million people worldwide! It is often called the “silent disease”, because bone loss happens without any symptoms. If left untreated, osteoporosis can progress painlessly until a bone breaks. Fortunately, osteoporosis is detectable and treatable. The densitometer is the most comprehensive bone health assessment tool available. Besides detecting osteoporosis, the densitometer can also detect ovarian failure, hyperparathyroidism and pathological fractures of the vertebrae.
